Welcome to Margaret’s Choir.

We are a non-audition community choir. Our purpose is to sing for personal, choral, and global harmony. We seek to make a difference for ourselves and for our community. We assemble for a new season and revised repertoire each January and September, under the direction of our Artistic Director, Katy Harmer, with the piano accompaniment of Charmaine Bacon. Our repertoire is best described as varied and eclectic.

Our Winter season starts Sunday September 8, 2024 and members will be able to participate directly in rehearsals or remotely by a simultaneous Zoom broadcast. See below for registration information.

Our in-person rehearsals take placed at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Crescent. Our usual starting time is Sunday 2:30pm and we run until 4:30 pm. Unfortunately, parking is limited to the church lot, and street parking is restricted.

Formal public health considerations are no longer in force. However, those attending the church rehearsal will have considered whether they are at elevated risk of having or being a carrier of a known contagious virus.

The Zoom broadcast link will be supplied in a message circulated to registered members the week prior to the first rehearsal.

Fees & Music:

1. Registration is now open
   1. To register please click here to register. (Note that previous members must register again but you need to only supply your name and information that has changed! )
   2. For the Fall Season2024, and again for the Spring Season 2025, the recommended fee will be $105.00.  This is an increase and reflects the increased costs we must meet in rehearsal rental space and professional contracts.  If you have requested that the choir supply with a copy of the music then please add a further charge of $15.

2. Fall Schedule
   1. Our Fall season begins 2:30 Sunday, September 8^th, at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 603 Wellington Crescent. Rehearsals will take place weekly with the exception of the Thanksgiving weekend.
   2. Our Fall concert takes place the afternoon of Sunday December 1^st, at Prairie Spirit United Church, 207 Thompson Drive.
   3. We are pleased that Katy Harmer will again be our Artistic Director, and Charmaine Bacon will again be our pianist.
3. Music:
   1. The musical repertoire has been collated and placed on the website. Members may print their own copy or they may request during registration that the choir supply a rental copy at additional cost.
   2. The website also contains musical examples of the songs.
   3. Most of the repertoire is now also loaded into Cantamus. For those not familiar with that rehearsal tool, Patrick will provide an orientation early in the season.
